If we look at Afghanistan Today the Volatile nature of the region and since the advent of the Taliban taking the reins of the government has made things more unpredictable. Though India had cautiously moved forward with the Taliban Government, Taliban Government too had expressed to deepen economic and strategic ties with India but another reality is also that the Indian Embassy has and will always become prone to the targets of terrorist Factions. A car bomb detonated by a suicide attacker blew up outside the Indian Embassy compound, killing several people on the spot and injuring dozens. Among the Indian martyrs were a senior defense attaché, a ranking diplomat and two embassy guards, all of whom were known for their hard work and strategic contribution to India-Afghanistan ties.
Afghan police stationed outside the compound also lost their lives, while several Afghan civilians and embassy staff were injured. Eyewitnesses described the blast as massive, reducing parts of the embassy perimeter to rubble and sending panic waves across the diplomatic quarter of Kabul.
This was not the first time India has lost its own to targeted attacks. But this one hit a raw nerve in the Indian diplomatic and security establishment due to the profile of the victims and the scale of the attack.
The Indian government strongly condemned the blast, calling it a “cowardly and unacceptable act of terror”. The MEA said India’s commitment to Afghanistan will not be deterred by such attacks. Global leaders and diplomatic missions around the world condoled and expressed solidarity with India, terming the attack a violation of international diplomatic norms.

Memorial Ceremonies were announced and the National Flag had been flown at half mast as a mark of respect for the fallen. This was an act of martyrdom and is still being recognised as such, because this is not only a loss for India but was also a blow to other Diplomatic efforts poured in to stabilize Afghanistan.
This job, understandably, is a high-risk job and the Officials who were posted might also be well versed with this fact, but this raises serious questions about the safety of the Indian diplomats in such hazardous regions. With one such incident in Afghanistan can also be true in Iraq and Syria for those Courageous Officials.
A Threat to Indian Presence is a Constant in the region yet India Has stood firm by Afghanistan, Investing billions in Infrastructure, Education and Humanitarian aid.
