Modi Combines Stern Security Message with Massive Development Drive in Jammu & Kashmir
On June 6, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Jammu and Kashmir, delivering a powerful dual message: a strong condemnation of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and an unwavering commitment to development and unity in the region. His visit comes in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed innocent lives, including tourists, and shocked the nation.
Modi did not mince words, accusing Pakistan of attacking not just lives but the spirit of “Kashmiriyat” and insaniyat (humanity). At the same time, he used the opportunity to launch infrastructure projects worth over ₹46,000 crore, underscoring his government’s development-first strategy in the region.

With a blend of strategic rebuke and vision for progress, Modi’s visit aimed to reassure the people of J&K and signal to the international community that terror will not derail India’s national integration goals.
PM Modi Slams Pakistan for Pahalgam Terror Attack, Praises Kashmiri Youth
PM Modi began his address with a direct attack on Pakistan’s terror machinery, stating that by targeting tourists, Pakistan attempted to destroy the livelihood and peace of common Kashmiris. He said this was not just an attack on people, but an attack on the soul of Kashmir—its culture, its hospitality, and its humanity.
He warned that India’s patience should not be mistaken for weakness, and lauded the people of Jammu and Kashmir—particularly the youth—for rising up against violence. According to Modi, the response from the youth has been clear: they want peace, development, and prosperity, not fear.
This segment of his speech served as both a stern warning to terrorists and a message of reassurance to locals that India will stand by Kashmir and protect its future. His remarks also highlighted India’s resolve to tackle cross-border terrorism while focusing on internal unity.

Alongside his security message, PM Modi inaugurated transformational infrastructure projects designed to link Kashmir with the rest of India—physically, economically, and emotionally. Among the most notable were:
- The Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL), hailed as a symbol of national integration
- The iconic Chenab Bridge, the world’s highest railway bridge and a marvel of engineering
- India’s first cable-stayed railway bridge over the Anji River
- Two new Vande Bharat trains, boosting high-speed connectivity between Katra and Srinagar
These projects are expected to revolutionize tourism, reduce travel time, and unlock new opportunities for trade, logistics, and job creation in Kashmir’s remote areas.
Modi emphasized that terrorism will no longer dictate the destiny of Jammu & Kashmir, and that development is now the driving force of its future. He called on every citizen to take pride in these milestones and contribute to building a strong, prosperous, and united India.
