Baloch leader supports India’s stance on PoK and demands urgent international intervention over human rights abuses.

Baloch leader Mir Yar Baloch issued a historic declaration, formally announcing Balochistan’s independence from Pakistan. Citing decades of Baloch human rights violations, enforced disappearances, and Pakistan army atrocities, he stated that the people of Balochistan have delivered their “national verdict.” The declaration, shared widely under the banner of the “Republic of Balochistan”, has sparked widespread discussion in South Asian and global political circles.

Mir Yar Baloch emphasized that Balochistan is not part of Pakistan, accusing the state of conducting a silent genocide in Balochistan through military operations, media blackouts, and systemic abuse. He stressed that the region was forcibly annexed and that its people have suffered for generations under Pakistani rule. His statement includes a strong warning to the international community: continued silence on Pakistan-occupied Balochistan would mean complicity in ongoing oppression.

What Is Mir Yar Baloch Asking from the International Community?

Mir Yar Baloch has issued a strong appeal to the international community, seeking urgent recognition and support for the newly declared Republic of Balochistan. He called on India and global powers to officially recognize Balochistan’s independence from Pakistan, emphasizing that the Baloch people have exercised their right to self-determination after enduring decades of enforced disappearances, Pakistan army atrocities, and systematic human rights violations. Specifically, he requested permission to open a Baloch embassy or representative office in New Delhi, signaling a desire for close ties with India.

Mir Yar Baloch also urged the United Nations to intervene by sending peacekeeping forces and holding a General Assembly session to formally discuss the status of Pakistan-occupied Balochistan. He proposed the formation of a transitional government for Balochistan, with a pledge to include representation for Baloch women and other marginalized voices. Furthermore, he appealed to Indian media and the public to stop referring to Balochs as “Pakistanis,” asserting a distinct Baloch national identity and affirming that “Balochs are not Pakistani.” These demands collectively form a broader push for global acknowledgment of Balochistan as a separate nation, free from Pakistani control and recognized on the world stage.

How Does This Connect to India and the PoK Issue?

In a strategic move, Mir Yar Baloch expressed full support for India’s stand on Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The Baloch leader urged the world to pressure Pakistan to vacate PoK, calling it part of a broader need to challenge Pakistan’s regional actions. He stated that Balochistan supports India on PoK, drawing a parallel between Operation Sindoor (India’s internal Kashmir strategy) and the Baloch resistance. By positioning Balochistan as a natural ally of India, Mir Yar Baloch not only appeals to Indian policymakers but also reframes the India-Pakistan conflict within a wider regional struggle against Pakistani militarism.

Meanwhile, Baloch fighters have intensified their operations, attacking Pakistani gas fields in Dera Bugti, signaling that the Balochistan resistance continues beyond political declarations.
