Jammu Targets Narco-Terror Empire, Demolishes Drug-Funded Illegal Properties.
In a bold and strategic crackdown on narco-terrorism, the Jammu Police launched “Operation Clean Up”—a campaign aimed at dismantling the infrastructure that sustains the illegal narcotics trade. At the heart of this operation was the demolition of three illegal shops owned by notorious drug peddler Mohammad Sadiq, executed under the NDPS Act’s Section 68F.

The move signals a zero-tolerance policy against drug-related activities in Jammu & Kashmir, as authorities emphasize that the war on drugs is not symbolic but action-driven, targeted, and legal. With increasing community support and inter-departmental collaboration, the operation is being hailed as a template for future narcotics control efforts across India.

The Jammu Police, in coordination with the Revenue Department (ISA), demolished three shops illegally owned by Mohammad Sadiq, a known drug trafficker. The properties were found to be built on state land and were acquired using proceeds from narcotics smuggling.
The action was legally sanctioned under Section 68F of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act, which empowers law enforcement to attach and forfeit illegally acquired assets. An FIR had already been registered against Sadiq at the Gandhinagar Police Station, following an intensive financial and legal investigation.
According to SP Ajay, the officer leading the charge,
“This is not just a demolition. It’s a direct blow to the economic base of narco-terrorism. We are treating this as a war.”
He emphasized that more names are on the radar and similar operations will follow, as the police step up efforts to cut the financial lifelines of drug syndicates operating in the region.
From Fear to Vigilance: Jammu’s Public Backs the Drug Crackdown
The success of Operation Clean Up also owes much to local community support, which SP Ajay acknowledged with gratitude.
“This is not about targeting any religion or caste. This is about saving our society from the clutches of drugs,” he clarified.
The operation was conducted without discrimination, sending a unified message: the law will not spare anyone involved in drug peddling, regardless of background. The public’s cooperation, paired with the government’s political will and legal backing, is seen as key to sustaining long-term progress.
SP Ajay also urged citizens to avoid drugs and report suspicious activity, making a public appeal for community vigilance. With more suspected drug dealers already under surveillance, the Jammu Police is preparing a wave of follow-up actions to eliminate the roots of narco-economy across the region.
This systematic approach combines legal enforcement, public engagement, and financial investigation, making it one of the most comprehensive anti-narcotics strategies in recent years.
