Shikhar Dhawan fight with Shahid Afridi
Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi recently reacted to a strong statement made by ex-India opener Shikhar Dhawan. Dhawan had responded sharply after Afridi made controversial comments about the Indian Army following the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, 2025.
While speaking on Pakistan’s Samaa TV, Afridi said that whenever anything happens in Kashmir—even something as small as a firecracker—India immediately blames Pakistan. He added that despite deploying more than 800,000 soldiers in the region, such attacks still happen, and that India should question the effectiveness of its own armed forces. He referred to them as failing in their duties.
Dhawan didn’t take these remarks lightly. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), he hit back, saying:
“We defeated you in Kargil too. You’ve already sunk so low, how much further will you go? Instead of making pointless comments, try helping your own country grow. We are extremely proud of our Indian Army. Bharat Mata Ki Jai! Jai Hind!”
In response, Afridi downplayed the matter and tweeted:

Afridi also criticized Indian news channels, saying their coverage of the Pahalgam attack turned dramatic, almost like a Bollywood film. He added that he found it surprising and even entertaining, claiming that the media acted more like performers than journalists. He questioned how such people consider themselves well-educated.
